I have three lovebird babies who are fully feathered and leaving the nest for short periods of time now. The parents are both peach face mutations. None of the babies have any peach coloring on the face like the parents. Will this change when they go through the first moult????? |

Hello, Most likely that will happen! My lovebird Lilly, was a beautiful blue color when I bought her - She was about 5months old and hand fed at the store my daughter works at. She now has a blue tail, and green on her back and wings with still some blue and yes, she finally got her peach color on her head after a few molts. She will be 2 yrs old this August. I wasn't sure is she was a peachface - but it's great to see the transformation. Are you going to keep the babie? Let us know what happens. I hope this info. helps. Good luck with your flock! |

Yes, the babies will molt out with peach faces, unless they are another mutation (which is possible), like whiteface or orange face. But they will probably be peachfaced like the parents |

they will not likely look exactly like the parents. I just had two like that hatch four unalike babies. two pastels, one lutino, one pied. carla |

They are a different kind of PF mutation. Will Fritsch |

it should change when they molt. that is what ours did. they just haven't got all thier color in all the way yet, or they might just have a little light peach you can't see yet.. some don't get the peach. they can be a different mutation

My two lovebirds had a clutch of 7 eggs and are now starting to hatch. This is their second time trying and I need some help. One of the eggs hatched and I was wondering how to tell if it is being fed by the mother. Also in their first clutch the mother bit off the babies heads... is this normal? |

Mother knows best. Leave it all up to the parents. |

I have a baby peachface that is 3 months old. I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. The problem is, he never stops. He loves to play with all his toys in his cage, but he wants out whenever he see me. I can only let him out when I can sit and just watch him. And I do mean just sit and never take my eyes off him for a second. He is into everything. He jumps on the dogs, jumps into the sink, and I mean he is non stop. He has to check out anything that is in my hands or anyone elses. He goes from one thing to another. He jumps on the floor and into the dog's food. It is like having a toddler around. Will he eventually calm down a little? Is this normal? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I have a hen and a cock peachface lovebrid - both lutino. They have been making friends in seperate cages next to eachother for a while now and have been out for a play together - which have mostly gone quite smoothly. The hen has laid eggs in the past and I am considering letting them breed. I was just curious, as they are both the same colour, what colours could the potential babies be?

I have a peachfaced lovebird and want to buy it a friend. Does the friend have to be a peachface or can I get any kind of lovebird? Thanks, Judy

Be careful with lovebird friends because if introduced together in a cage they are likely to hurt each other. |
