THE EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE FOLLOWING SERIAL CAT ABUSER/KILLER IS: sean@lynde.net
He killed 4, damaged one so badly it had to be killed, and another had it's paw broken, and then shortly after, Lynde told the girlfriend the kitten "ran away." 6 VICTIMS in this case (I bet this was not his first time -- maybe just the first time he got caught). I would wonder: WHY DIDN'T THE VET REPORT THIS? The first victim, found w/a broken jaw stuffed full of detergent, shoved behind the dryer was a 15 year old cat! The second victim was 12 yrs old, and died from severe trauma to the head and body (beaten to death). The ASPCA officer sites the results of a necropsy to the first two, which would mean they were taken to the vet? Or that the owner kept their bodies on ice??? (that would be very weird!!!). Vets are required by law to report any sign of abuse/neglect! But this idiot owner got 4 more cats (kittens), who all ended up victims of her boyfriend (who looks like he is a Taliban reject)...

Accused kitty killer Sean Lynde turns self in; suspected of murdering 4 of girlfriend's adopted catsBY Lisa L. Colangelo, Alison Gendar and Corky Siemaszko DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS Updated Friday, August 21st 2009, 9:46 PM Hermann for News Sean Lynde in custody of ASPCA Special Agents this morning, as he is brought to the Manhattan District Attorney's office. Cats named Bonifide (l.) and Emo were two of alleged cat killer Sean Lynde's victims. Bonafide was found dead with a broken neck in January, while Emo went missing and was presumed dead last year. Investigators think they have a serial kitty killer in the bag. Sean Lynde poisoned one of his girlfriend’s cats with laundry detergent, broke the neck of another, beat a third one so badly it had to be euthanized and claimed a fourth “fell off a countertop” and died, prosecutors said. The Manhattan man has also been charged with crippling another kitten and causing a sixth to disappear. “I’ve never seen this series of incidents carried out against animals in my experience,” said Assistant Director Joseph Pentangelo of the ASPCA, which nabbed Lynde. Lynde’s lawyer insisted the 36-year-old graphic designer and former roadie for the alternative rock band Guster was no cat slayer. “He has never harmed a pet in his life,” said attorney Elliot Kay. This was not Lynde’s first brush with the law. He was busted in March after he allegedly punched and broke ex-girlfriend Rachael Strate’s Apple Macbook, causing $800 worth of damage, police records show. Strate was the owner of the adopted cats Lynde is charged with murdering. Lynde posted $5,000 cash bail and took off after he was arraigned on multiple animal cruelty charges that could send him to jail for up to four years. He was also charged with harassing and stalking Strate, which are misdemeanors that carry far less jail time. On his Web site, Lynde does not come off as a crazed cat killer, but he makes his preference for dogs clear. He lists, among his favorite things, “spending time on The Lake in Maine with my wonderful family and two of the most lovable dogs you could ever meet.” Six months before Lynde was arrested, a warning was posted on craigslist that read, “KEEP CATS AWAY FROM THIS MAN.” It was not immediately clear who put up the notice. Lynde was named on the site, which also posted a photograph of him wearing a paper crown from Burger King. “He is currently under investigation for six counts of aggravated animal cruelty,” the site said. Lynde’s kitty murder spree began in October 2008 when a cat named Cleo was found dead behind a dryer with her mouth full of detergent, while Zoe was found badly beaten and later had to be euthanized, according to the ASPCA. Strate went out and adopted two more kittens named Willie and Betty. The next month, she came home to discover Willie was having trouble walking. A couple of nights later, she found Betty dead. “Mr. Lynde states that she fell from a countertop to the floor and stopped breathing,” said Pentangelo. Still not suspecting Lynde, Strate adopted two more kittens named Emo and Bonafide. Bonafide was found dead with a broken neck. And when Emo vanished, Lynde told Strate the kitty ran away, investigators said. The ASPCA began investigating after a tipster reported that bad things were happening to the cats of Lynde’s girlfriend. Lynde no longer lives with Strate. “They broke up in January and haven’t lived together since,” Kay said. csiemaszko@nydailynews.com With Melissa Grace and Jamie Locher Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2009/08/21/2009-08-21_cops_bag_accused_cat_killer.html#ixzz0OtCnmPT0 |

****ALERT****
SEAN PATRICK LYNDE, arrested on SIX counts of felony animal abuse on Aug. 21, 2009 will appear in the NY Supreme Court, 100 Center St. NY, NY on SEPTEMBER 24, 2009. The Judge is M. Obus, part 51 and the case # is 04003-2009. PLEASE BE THERE to let the Supreme Court System know that we will NOT settle for less that ALL SIX COUNTS!!!! No deals, no pleas, NOTHING.
You can also write:
Assistant District Attorney Daniele Gallo 1 Hogan Place NY, NY 10013
and let her know that WE, THE PEOPLE, demand that he be held accountable for ALL SIX animals who were killed so savagely despite their trusting, loving, innocent natures. NOT ONE of these cats or kittens were prepared through any experience in their entire lives to understand how to defend themselves against such savage evil. They were DOMESTIC cats and kittens and though they may have tried to save their own lives, they didn't stand a chance against a monster 100X their size who was determined to break their necks and inflict fatal brain trauma upon them until they died. Not one of these trusting, healthy, happy creatures should be allowed to die in vain.
Please cross post the court date, location and address for the Asst. D.A. and let our demand for justice to the full extent of the law VERY CLEAR.
Thank you.

Does anyone know what time this court case is scheduled.? Can someone post it on here when they find out. This needs to go out to every animal activist group and everyone who is not working at that time needs to show up at court. This is the straw that broke the camels back. We should get video protests as well . Enough cruelty and a slap on the wrist. I will send this to Santo's group and a few other activist groups. Can someone volunteer to get the information once we know the time to animal related facebook groups and the animal mayors alliance. This needs to be big not just 5 people standing there which sends a message that torturing animals is not too important. This needs to send a message. DOes anyone know how to start a petition online. THis needs to go to the judge? or who would we send it to. Can you send a petition and letters to a judge? This must be big if you are fed up with sociopaths getting out to do this again and again. Think of what these animals went through. The law must change and it must change now. The girl who put the cat in microwave will be out in 2 years to repeat this. Is this going to be a game of she kills and gets put away and gets out and kills again. What is the legal rights of people who want to protect animals to have a website to show pix of animal abusers similar to letting people know about child molesters in their neighborhood. Any other ideas to make this really big and get people to show up for once and for all. Take off work if you have to. NYC should send a message and the laws should change now.

You can go to Petition 2 website and create a petition there. Also type in "make a petition" in your browser window. Yes you can write not only the judge in the case but the prosecuting attorney as well. We do it here in Virginia as members of Virginia Voters for Animal Welfare. It is called the Court Watch alert where pending cases of animal abuse are posted, location, name of judge, court clert, and prosecuting attorney along with e-mail contact addresses. |

And what the hell was the matter with the idiot girlfriend of this creep? After the first cat incident, didn't she think something was very very WRONG??
Absolutely, this needs to be protested in huge numbers. It's time for people who truly care about animals to get out there in bodies and show a presence for animals, and NOT in ratty message T-shirts which just makes us look like lunatic fringe.
Earlier this summer, when Bloomberg was killing the geese, there were small, insignificant protests. We have to do better than that. I hope everybody will come out in record numbers at election time.
We must look and act like a force to be reckoned with, and this cat killer would be a good place to start.

| Hope you do create a petition, I will be eager to sign. I'm glad so many people feel outraged and furious about this - and I truly hope that justice is done, though it's hardly any comfort for the innocent animals who suffered. I cannot understand this cruelty, I don't understand how things like this can happen. It still shocks and sickens me every time. |

The ambition here is admirable. Your petitions, protests and things of the like, however, make no difference on the outcome of a case. You will not convince the judge or D.A. to decide differently than they normally would, and if anything your actions could hurt the efforts of the prosecutors. Let's face it - despite the compassion and goodwill of those in animal welfare, there is a sizable percentage of those who do not act appropriately and who let their emotions get the best of them. They do not understand law. They are not great communicators. They know how to care for animals but do not offer much when it comes to activist situations. What it ends up looking like are a bunch of wingnuts with pins, misspelled signs and annoying banter outside courthouses. Whether there are ten people or a thousand outside a courthouse, do you really think that will change the judge's decisions? I have seen this more than once. Not to mention that you have deemed this guy guilty without a single court date yet. I know some people are questioning the story (or stories, I should say, since there are significant differences between them) that we were fed by the media - the comment boards will tell you that. It sounds outrageous and full of holes.

Petitions are worthless. Individual letters (and NOT form letters, but individually written) to the DA (and asking the DA to also present them to the Judge, prior to sentencing) are what is needed. |

| please cross post: this is NOT a trial. Sept. 24th is Lynde's opportunity to change his plea to guilty, try to make a plea bargain and find out the consequences of that plea bargain or maintain his "not guilty" plea and begin paperwork to set trial date. It is still unknown what Lynde and his attorney, Elliott Kay, will choose to do. The public is not usually allowed into the courtroom. I get the impression it's a sort of processing hearing. We need to let the justice system know, including Judge Obus, that we are watching and we will NOT settle for any trivialization of these charges or SIX lost lives! Please, don't allow these innocent creatures to have died in vain. help to let their voices echo with the betrayal of their trust and open, loving hearts, a betrayal so abominable it resulted in their inarguably undeserved deaths. Thank you. |

It's interesting to see how many people comment about the stupidity of the girlfirend, Rachael Strate. Doesn't it seem really strange that she continued to live with him well after the alleged episodes?
That's because Rachel Strate is crazy and vindictive.
I know this, because I know her.
And, in this case, I know she is lying.
Yes -- in an attempt to get out of her lease, she is lying. Big time. And she's willing to destroy the life of an innocent person.
So, while I understand a lot of the anger about the alleged wrongdoing (I, too, was pretty upset, until I learned more about the details), I have to tell you: you're wasting your time and energy. This guy is not an animal killer, and I have no doubt that the courts will prove this out.
As for Rachel: may God forgive her for this heinous crime of hers.

Truth, you're spot on. People who are familiar with the accusing ex-girlfriend know she repeatedly tried various accusations (which were all thrown out of court, twice) to ruin the life of the accused, who is innocent of all charges. She was essentially laughed at by judes, and by police. So now she's trying to accuse him of killing cats, with no evidence and help of her friend at the ASPCA, though the accused has no history of sociopathic behavior and is a well-documented humanitarian and animal lover. (and supporter of the ASPCA, nonetheless)
When the trial comes, people will find out how malicious the ex-girlfriend is and how much she has lied to the public. It will be interesting to see how her lies hold up under counts of perjury.
Unfortunately, crazy fanatics like "justiceforanimals" perpetuate these lies under anonymoity because they are friends of Rachel and are cowards. But calling for petitions won't work... there will be a trial, and Rachel will be exposed for the crazy, vindictive ex that she is.
