Here is help for those who need help with emergency vet services. DO NOT let your pet suffer!
This information is for both rescue people and individuals. I'm posting a list of organizations that may be able to help in times of emergency when the difference between saving your pet's life is the difference in whether or not you can pay the vet bill.
Note: these organizations help only in EMERGENCY situations - not for people who can't or won't provide basic care, although there may be some organizations listed here who provide help to special needs people, such as the elderly and others who are on fixed incomes.

I have an elderly cat. He was born under my bed March 16 1987 and he has kidney failure. He has a vet, a Doctor he goes to, but I am on disability and my son is also, who lives with me and our cat, Tuffy. He has a LRS drip bag of 1000 ml. that he has to have 200 ml. a day. The bag lasts only a few days and costs us $31.50 with the line and needles. He also has medication for appetite because he does not want to eat. He did weigh 11 lbs., but now he is down to 7.12 lbs. I have had him all his life and vow to how ever I can keep him alive and as healthy and comfortable as possible. His LRS drip bag costs $63.00 foe two of them and only lasts 8 or 9 days. He is very special and needs help with his medical needs. He gets around very well and seems he is fine, but he isn't. He needs contuined care and the fluids for him to remain alive, as right now he is very much alive, but needs help with the costs. I need help with his medical costs! Please help him. Our # is 708-698-6208.

Get a prescription from your vet for a case (12 bags) of LRS. Call pharmacies to find out where you can get it. I was getting it from Costco (you do not have to be a member to use their pharmacy) for $25 for the case! Upco.com sells tubing for $2.75 each and needles for not much, I think 100 are $15. Upco.com also sells LRS for about $4.50 a bag, if you are unable to get it through a local pharmacy. You may be able to get his medications for less money from a pharmacy too.
